• Teachers were having problems in ruling straight lines on whiteboards or blackboards due to the smooth surface of the boards causing the ruler to move. This was overcome by inserting magnets underneath the ruler.
• The ruler is made from extruded plastic (1000 x 60 x 10mm) with a long magnetic strip running down the back. This holds the ruler against the whiteboard firmly and stores it out of the reach of young children.
